We started our Madurai Food Tour with Paruthi paal (Cotton Milk). It was much similar to kurukku in Kerala. Having the flavour of jaggery and dry ginger, cotton milk was good to start our Madurai Night Food.

After Paruthi Paal we went to Simmakkal Konar Kadai for trying Kari Dosai. Kari dosai is a modified version of mutta dosa where egg, dosa, chicken curry/ mutton curry, and chicken chunks / mutton chunks are used.
Konar Kadai has several years of experience in serving yummy food to their guests. In their restaurant, we tried the following delicacies:
a. Mutton kari dosai: Rs. 215.00
b. Muttai dosai: Rs. 50.00
c. Bullseye dosai: Rs. 55.00
d. Idiyappam: Rs. 15.00 per piece
e. Mutton paya: Rs. 110.00
f. Mutton chops: Rs. 156.00

Our next stop was Hanifai Jigirthanda Vilakuthoo. Jigirthanda is famous in Madurai and we selected Hanifai Jigirthanda Vilakuthoo as some of our friends suggested it over the "Famous Jigirthanda". There we enjoyed regular Jigirthanda which was Rs. 50.00.

Soft Madurai idli served with varieties of chutneys make a perfect vegetarian breakfast when you are in Madurai, but where can we get the best idlies in Madurai? For this question, a common answer that we get from the people of Madurai is Murugan Idli Shop. They have two shops serving vegetarian cuisine in Madurai, but we had our idli breakfast in Madurai from their shop in Thalavoy Street.
